ChildSafe was the again the recipient of two fundraisers at Fine and Funky in 2012—May and December. Fine and Funky is a great little shop in Timnath that features unique jewelry, purses and other accessories. If you haven't been there, your missing out!
The Tees Fore Two Golf Tournament, benefiting ChildSafe and Front Range Exceptional Equestrians, was held on Monday, September 10, 2012, at the Fort Collins Country Club. This great event was organized courtesy of the ROMEO Mens Golf Club. Those guys know how to put on a tournament! As in the past, each participant received a pass to play an additional time at the Country Club free of charge in the next year.
National award winning quilter Sherry Reynolds of Laramie, WY again designed a quilt for ChildSafe's annual quilt raffle. This quilt was designed as fabric art and is meant to be a wall hanging. The quilt was raffled at the 2012 Rocky Mountain Quilt Festival at The Ranch on August 19, 2012.
ChildSafe's Art Thrives art auction was held on Friday, July 27, 2012, from 5:30-9:00 p.m. at the Fort Collins Country Club. As always this year's event was lively, fun and hugely successful. Live auction artists were: Heather Coen, Bob Coonts, Kathi Dougherty, Gary Hixon, Christy Martell, Kate Moss, Kevin Robb, Ellie Weakley, and Mark Wagner.
Also included in the live auction were a one-week stay on the island of St. Croix. The sit-down dinner included a choice of the following: Chicken Picatta, London Broil or Pasta Primavera.
The Shop-a-Thon for ChildSafe held April 12th was a great success. We had vendors from Arbonne, Avon, Claire Bear Wear, Coast-to-Coast Designs, Pampered Chef, Premier Designs Jewelry, Scentsy, Tastefully Simple, and Thirty-One Bags. Thanks goes out to Classic Custom Builders, Inc. for allowing us to use their gorgeous show home located at 6424 Murano Drive in Windsor and to Dennis Pfeifer from The Group Real Estate for figuring out logistics. Last but not least, thanks to ChildSafe angel and volunteer Nichole Johnson for putting this all together.
Fine & Funky held a fundraiser for ChildSafe on April 20th and 21st just in time for Mother’s Day. Megan Barz, owner of Fine & Funky made sure that her store had its usual amazing array of jewelry and accessories. Not only does Megan epitomize entrepreneurship but she’s also extremely generous to our community’s nonprofits by regularly donating providing fundraisers. Thanks, Megan and the staff at Fine and Funky, for supporting ChildSafe!
Memory Lane Antiques (426 Main Street, Windsor) held a Spring Open House for ChildSafe on Friday, April 20th through Sunday, April 22nd. We are so grateful to Dan Stauss, owner of Memory Lane Antiques and to manager Pam Nichols Tallon for taking such care to arrange the store so beautifully for the event. If you haven’t been to Memory Lane, you’re missing out on an amazing array of home décor, accessories, antiques, adorable items for babies, and the best greeting card selection anywhere!
ChildSafe’s 3rd annual Trivia Bowl was held February 25th at Ptarmigan Golf Club. The room was jam packed with competitive trivia players. There were 65 amazing silent auction items. ChildSafe President Sara Stieben was the emcee and kept the play fast paced and fun! We look forward to another fabulous Trivia Bowl in 2013.
